If its only VMware I can try using other virtual machine applications I mentioned.

like oracle virtual box or windows 2008's own Hyper-V. Ok tell me is VT-D encashed by VMware or all virtual machine application. if VT-D is the actual issue I'd say its a pretty important feature that has to be there for VMware. I wonder if that can degrade the performance. VMs take a huge space, currently I have 2 running via SSD, but the space left on SSD is not even 1 GB now. I wonder if the timings would hold for another 4 Gb? I sense that there is performance headroom left.Could it be a reason that my SSD is filled to brim top. My first use of G.Skill memory and it's good. 1.41) many times and the memory is error free. It boots to the exact timings and voltage that G.Skill said it would. The command rate was set at 2T, but I manually changed that to 1T. In the BIOS, I selected 1800 MHz for the memory and loaded Profile 1 which I believe is the XMP profile in the SPD. Overall Review: As I nervously powered up my new, spendy build, imagine my shock at the bright blue LEDs under the fans that I didn't know about! After I calmed a bit, I heard the motherboard POST and all was well. The sticks are running at 1800 MHz with timings 7-8-7-24-1T 1.65V.Ĭons: While the fans mounted OK, I think a small redesign on their mounting hardware might be good. But the fans worked well and the memory and CPU are quite cool. The dual fan arrangement just fit over the memory very close to the heatsink of the AMD X6 1090T.

Pros: The memory sticks mounted in the Asus M4A89GTD/USB3 Pro motherboard just fine. I have no clue why it's an "ultimate solution" for Phenom II X6 Overall Review: Very good ram overall, not sure though if I'm better off with this ram instead of having bought something for 40-50$ less.

Did anyone else experience this kind of problem?Īlso, tightening timings didn't even give me any significant change in benchmarks, also increasing MHz did. But right now, NB 2750 and CPU 3850, I cannot EVEN tighten it by 1 increment. So basically if I don't touch the cpu and nb, I can tighten my timings a lot. When I overclock the CPU and the NB to around 3.6-3.8GHz and 2500-2700 GHz respectively, I cannot tighten the timings even if I decrease ram's mhz by dropping the divider. Not sure if it's related to this ram though:

However I do have a weird problem when overclocking my CPU or NB. Overclocked to 2000 at 8-9-80-24 (1.65v).Ĭons: It says: "Ultimate solution for w/ AMD Phenom II X6 CPU" I have 1050t and I didn't see anything special with this ram compared to other rams.

(I ended up putting the included cooler in my old P4 build.) Their service is pretty good too (they seem to go to great lengths to see to customer satisfaction (as evidenced in the below reviews.) I still wish I could get this without the cooler and save a few bucks, but the impressive performance of this memory is worth the small irritations. Overall Review: G.Skill makes good memory at decent prices. Still, the cooler is a pretty minor consideration at the end of the day. See my previous review to hear my gripes on the cooler. This is some good memory, and once again G-Skill has set me up with some really good RAM at a decent price (even if I don't dig the fan so much.)Ĭons: I had to shift my big honkin' OCZ cpu cooler a bit because it was touching the heat spreaders. Got a couple minor ones when it was set to 1800, but that's normal. When set to advertised timings and to 1600 mHz speed, I logged 7.6 on the Windows experience index, and memtest 86+ did not log any errors after a long test. It will let you set timings and clock speed as advertised (unlike some memory that was benched on Intel boards, the stated numbers are for AMD.) Basically, nice tight memory timings that will OC to 1800 as stated.

Pros: Got my new CPU today, so this RAM got its trial by fire.
